Words of wisdom.
June 26, 2009
This is a nice way to ponder things…it was sent to me by a friend..usually, i dont read chain mails but this one got my attention.
” No one is so poor as to have nothing to give and no one is so rich as to have nothing to receive.” DON’T WE ALL?
I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come from the car wash and was waiting for my wife to get out of work. Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would consider a bum. From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no money.
There are times when you feel generous but there are other times that you just don’t want to be bothered. This was one of those “don’t want to be bothered times.” “I hope he doesn’t ask me for any money,” I thought. He didn’t. He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop but he didn’t look like he could have enough money to even ride the bus.
After a few minutes he spoke. “That’s a very pretty car,” he said. He was ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly blond beard keep more than his face warm. I said, “thanks,” and continued wiping off my car. He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never came.
As the silence between us widened something inside said, “ask him if he needs any help.” I was sure that he would say “yes” but I held true to the inner voice. “Do you need any help?” I asked.
He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget. We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from those of higher learning and accomplishments.
I expected nothing but an outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me. “Don’t we all?” he said.
I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum in the street, until those three words hit me like a twelve gauge shotgun.
Don’t we all?
I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I needed help.
I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus fare, but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those three little words still ring true. No matter how much you have, no matter how much you have accomplished, you need help too.
No matter how little you have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without money or a place to sleep, you can give help. Even if it’s just a compliment, you can give that. You never know when you may see someone that appears to have it all.
They are waiting on you to give them what they don’t have. A different perspective on life, a glimpse at something beautiful, a respite from daily chaos, that only you through a torn world can see.
Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe he was more than that. Maybe he was sent by a power that is great and wise, to minister to a soul too comfortable in themselves.
Maybe God looked down, called an Angel, dressed him like a bum, then said, “go minister to that man cleaning the car, that man needs help.”
Don’t we all?

What to do when you’re stuck on a terminal bus.
December 10, 2008
You expected that you’d be able to hit the last trip. You hurriedly strutted to the entrance of the terminal avoiding the persistent and insistent “kargadors” hustling you around. You drop by to the public urinals to pee. And all of a sudden, you asked around and found out that the last bus had just left. You tried to catch it but all you can see was its illuminated tail lights. It’s so frustrating! You are left with waiting for 4 hours ‘til the first trip of the following day.
What to do? You will see people lined up sleeping here, there, and everywhere. They too shared the same fate. Here are some things you must remember to survive.
1. Secure your things. Extra precautions will save you from people who wanted to “secure” your things for you. If you wanted to take a nap or maybe a sleep, your luggage can be a good pillow to hug and rest your head with.
2. If you wanted to be awake instead, look for a coffee you can consume. It’ll boost your energy to wake you up until the time of the trip.
3. Have a little chit chat to a seatmate but make it a point that you set the tone. You don’t want to bother people when all they want to do is rest.
4. Instead, have a talk to some vendors. Besides, they are the ones who wanted to stay awake until their shift ends. They too have some interesting stories to tell.
5. Occupy yourself with something to do. Maybe read a book, rent a tagalog pocket book or anything that has words in it.
6. Take out your gadgets, Laptop, iPod, MP3/MP4 Players, PSP, Gameboy, or you can just break your highest score on your cell phone games.
7. When you survive the wait. Prepare yourself to board the bus. Check your belongings and if everything is intact, you’re good to go.
Have a nice trip!
Did you know that…

This is the list of the things i recently know. Things i have discovered on the net. Something unfamailiar yet surprisingly nice to know.
You are invited and welcome to leave comments for things to add here. Feel free!!!
I once opened a site that jacqui has forwarded me. I forgot about the url. It’s about plants, ornaments, used for landscaping. I came accross to this tip…Did you know that if you wanted your bougainvillea to blossom to its vibrant beauty, water it sufficiently for one week then leave it dry for another. I can’t wait to try this at home. I remembered cutting those shrubs because its sooo unuseful…
Ant’s Virtue
December 5, 2008
Im posting another one. I decided to. Yesterday, 11/30/2008, I’m browsing into Jacqui’s posted blogs and I envy her. Ever since, it’s one of my passions also, writing stuffs. You know, I’m good at putting my thoughts into words. (Thoughts in words? Never to actions? J ) If I only had a luxury of time. (Time = priceless resource.)
Back to jacqui’s blog, I enjoyed it a lot.( Especially the side comments. Hehehehe) I kindda like reading blogs of people. Last October, there’s this thing called Bloggers Convention or Blogers Congress thingy..something…here in General Santos City held at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University. I planned to join to know some new stuffs bout the trends of blogging. Unfortunately, for some important reason, I wasn’t able to.
As I scanned her blogs and FS account, I came across that wonderful picture that says, “trying out some lens”. It’s a good picture, I should say. I decided, I must have a decent DSLR. This afternoon, I went to KCC Mall and visited a Sony Shop. And I can’t bear to see the tag. Damn it! It’s very expensive. It will cost me my life buying that thing…( Wahahaha ) But I’ve got to have it. I stared blankly on it and maybe will focus on saving to buy it. (Hopefully I can manage to save. It’s another misdemeanor I have…Im poor in saving money! I need to have a wife!)
If ants can do it, why cant I?
